Does your Açaí bowl always end up watery and melt within minutes? Here are my top tips for making a smoothie bowl just like those from your favorite stores, right at home! This way, you can decide what goes into it and how much of each item you want to add.
1. Choose Frozen Fruit: Start with about 2 cups of your favorite fruit. But remember, they MUST be frozen. This ensures your smoothie bowl has a thick and creamy consistency and doesn't turn into a watery mess.
2. Limit Your Liquid: Pour in just 1/4-1/2 cup of milk. Less is more when it comes to the liquid in your smoothie bowl. You want a consistency more like ice cream than a drink.
3. Sneak in Veggies: Toss in some frozen cauliflower rice. It's an excellent way to balance your blood sugar and sneak in some veggies with your morning meal. It also helps thicken the mixture without altering the flavor.
4. Don't Forget Protein: Add some protein powder for that extra blood sugar balance and to keep you feeling satiated.
5. Blend then Shake: Now, blend for 5 seconds, then shake for 20. Repeat this until your smoothie starts to blend smoothly.
6. Top It Off: Finish your bowl with your favorite garnishes. You can use anything from flax seeds, chia seeds, fresh strawberries, granola, and peanut butter. Dig in and enjoy!

Ingredients:
For the Smoothie:
1/2 a frozen banana
1 block of frozen acai
1/2 cup of frozen raspberries
1/2 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
1 scoop of protein powder (Truvani or Garden of Life)
1/2 cup of frozen cauliflower rice
1/4 cup almond milk
For the Toppings:
1 tablespoon of flax seeds
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Fresh strawberries, sliced
1/4 cup of granola
1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter
Instructions:
Begin with your frozen fruits. In a high-speed blender, add the frozen banana, aćai block, frozen raspberries, and frozen pineapple chunks. Remember, using frozen fruits is key to achieving the creamy consistency we're aiming for.
Pour in 1/4 cup of your chosen milk. Be mindful not to add too much, as less liquid results in a thicker smoothie bowl.
Time for the secret ingredient - the frozen cauliflower rice. This is an excellent way to balance your blood sugar levels and sneak in some veggies into your morning meal.
Add your scoop of protein powder (Truvani or Garden of Life). This will ensure extra blood sugar balance and keep you feeling full and satiated throughout the day.
Now, it's time to blend. Blend for 5 seconds, then stop and shake the blender for 20 seconds to redistribute the ingredients. Repeat this process until your smoothie starts to blend smoothly and has a thick, creamy consistency.
Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl.
Top the smoothie bowl with flax seeds, chia seeds, fresh strawberry slices, and granola. Drizzle the peanut butter over the top. Feel free to get creative with your toppings - this is your chance to add some extra texture and flavors to your bowl.
Serve immediately and enjoy your nutrient-packed, delicious smoothie bowl!
By incorporating these tips, you'll have a smoothie bowl that's not only delicious and satisfying, but also filled with ingredients that contribute to your health and wellbeing. Enjoy your breakfast!
